Correlation and Scattergram Applet from Seeing Statistics

This applet illustrates the appearance of scatter diagrams for values of the correlation coefficient between -1 and +1. This corresponds to Figure 3-6 on p. 151 in Just the Elements of Statistics.

  How-To:
Drag or click in the slider bar to select different values for the correlation coefficient. The graph changes continuously so that the scattergram matches the correlation coefficient. Use the "Switch Sign" button to jump between positive and negative values of the same correlation.
